Great place for lunch or dinner. Their fried chicken 🍗 has got to be the best in southern Oregon. Comes out HOT, which i just love! The macaroni and cheese is a notch above most others, they add some spices and bread crumbs ( very light...perfect)
Found this place on a road trip. Excellent food. Well seasoned. Great service. Ambience was aesthetically pleasing. Reasonable prices. Focused menu. Don’t believe the negative reviews. Try it for yourself.
Great fried chicken spot in downtown Medford. Fried chicken sandwich comes with 2 hush puppies and your choice of 1 side. Quality is great, way better than the chicken shanty or any chain spot.
We had a great experience and enjoyed some juicy chicken strips and sandwhich, along with collard greens and hushpuppies each. We loved eating the greens, and the spicy vinegar really kicked them into high gear! Then sopping up the juices with the hush puppies... well that just made for a spectacular eating experience. In addition, the owner struck up some friendly conversation with us, which was refreshing. My only suggestion would be regarding the bun for the chicken sandwhich. It was a bit too thick and dense for an already large pice of chicken (no complaints there), but it did make for tough eating. Can't wait to go back to try the red beans & rice.
As a recent transplant from the South, I was a little homesick for a meal that included collard greens specifically, and I couldn't be more delighted to have found this place! I ordered the 2 piece meal and it was hearty! The greens were cooked to perfection and they even included the type of pepper sauce that makes them irresistible! These are a blend of collard, mustard, and turnip (I think), but what matters is that they are delicious! The chicken tasted like the pan-fried versions served in "soul food" restaurants down south, with big, juicy pieces. Absolutely spot-on. The complimentary hush puppies were perfect for sopping up the pot liquor from the greens! I will definitely be back!

If you’re anywhere near Medford, Oregon, do yourself a favor and check out Hen & Flour. This little spot seriously delivers on comfort food done right. We ordered the 2-piece fried chicken meal with mac and cheese, and a 2-piece chicken strip meal with coleslaw. First off — the chicken strips were HUGE. Not those skinny little tenders… these were thick, juicy, and perfectly cooked with a crispy, golden coating that had just the right crunch. The fried chicken was just as impressive — flavorful, moist on the inside, and fried to perfection. The mac and cheese was creamy and comforting, and the coleslaw was fresh and balanced everything out nicely. Both plates came with two hush puppies, which were a great bonus — crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Now let’s talk sauces. The ranch was creamy with a subtle hint of dill — super good. The “hot honey” though… that one surprised us! It had a strong lavender flavor with a touch of spice. Lavender? What?! 😂 Definitely unexpected, but interesting and unique. Overall, a very good meal with generous portions and great flavor. Hen & Flour is absolutely worth a stop if you’re craving some seriously satisfying fried chicken.
Great spot for some amazingly delicious fried chicken and Louisiana style comfort food! David and the crew here know their stuff, and bonus he’s super friendly and will talk to you about pretty much anything. Seems like a place that loves their community as much as they love making delicious food. Back to the food. I haven’t had a better fried chicken sandwich in the valley and their red beans and rice is one of my favorite things. Plus you can’t go wrong with a $1.50 PBR! I always go here if I’m craving a delicious and juicy chicken sandwich, and you should too!
